Jen Worth

Resilient strength is the opposite of helplessness. The tree is made strong and resilient by its grounded root system.
— Peter Levine, PhD, founder of Somatic Experiencing®

Jen Worth is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and a certified facilitator in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), an evidence-based adjunct practice for the treatment of psychological trauma. Jen believes in body-based therapies for healing the nervous system and symptoms related to difficult life situations, trauma, and other stress-related conditions.  She approaches her work with compassion, curiosity and respect for the innate healer in each of us. She meets each client in the present moment to support and expand their resiliency and well-being.

Jen has a diverse background in bodywork, yoga, animal behavior, and teaching. She has been a bodyworker in private practice for more than a decade, helping clients with trauma recovery, injury rehabilitation and chronic pain relief. Her deep knowledge is grounded in her passion for anatomy and neuroscience and her intuitive listening skills honed through years of Craniosacral Therapy practice.

Jen is grateful to have studied animal behavior with world-renowned experts, and often finds these skills useful when tracking the experiences of her clients. Jen studied with Jean Donaldson and holds a Certificate in Training and Counseling with honors from the San Francisco SPCA. She has studied Operant Conditioning with Marian and Bob Bailey; clicker-training chickens was quite an experience when led by B.F. Skinner’s former graduate students. Jen’s private training business, Paws For Success, specialized in working with dogs with behavioral issues.

Jen loves sharing her knowledge and taught massage and anatomy for five years at McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland, CA. Jen’s passion for teaching includes facilitating public yoga classes for more than a decade. As part of the REI Outdoor School, Jen led the “Hiking with Dogs” program as well as guiding road and mountain biking adventures in California’s Bay Area.

Jen happily collaborates with other health providers, including medical doctors, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and holistic practitioners so that we may offer the most effective support and treatment for each client.

Jen is also a Licensed Massage Therapist in Oregon (#23738) and is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider and a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200).

In her free time, Jen appreciates the restorative powers of nature, whether she's hiking, biking, canoeing, or snowboarding. She can often be found on the trails with her young dog Zendo, a future Therapy Dog in-training.
